I got a C-summons / Pink Ticket - do I have to appear in Court or can I just send the fine in?

If the front of your ticket says that your appearance is required, as the NYC pink tickets do, then your appearance is required, unless you hire an attorney to appear with you or in your place. (See example of where & how this is worded)

A bench warrant will be issued.

What is a bench warrant?

A reason for the police to harass, delay, search and even arrest you if you happen to encounter the police. It is an instruction from the Court to any law enforcement officers who run into you to bring you before the Court’s bench.

I know I want to take my summons to trial-is it still 500 bucks?

If we have to appear more than once on your summons, or do a trial, yes the fee will be more. However, remember, many times SummonsPros can get rid of the ticket for our basic fee, in one appearance, without a trial, so do reach out using the contact form.

Are SummonsPros licensed attorneys?

Yes.

Do you handle summonses outside of New York City?

No.

Do you handle OATH (Office of Administrative Trials & Hearings) summonses?

Different ball of wax. Our attorneys can be retained on a case by case basis for these.
